Sandford started her career in 2001 with pop music S Club 7 spin-off group,[3] S Club Juniors, later renamed to S Club 8 in April 2003 following the disbanding of S Club.[4] Prior to joining S Club 8, she also appeared on SMTV Live as a cheerleader.[3] The band split in 2003, however they continued on to shoot children's television programme I Dream.
In 2008, Sandford joined the girl group The Saturdays comprising Una Healy, Mollie King, Vanessa White and fellow former-S Club 8 member Rochelle Wiseman. In November 2008, along with her other bandmates from The Saturdays, she appeared in the Channel 4 Hollyoaks spin-off Hollyoaks Later.[5][7] They appeared in the short BBC drama Myths in January 2009, in the episode 'A Syren's Call', as a modern-day group of Sirens.
